Float “Italia Boom”- category B
The work of the Gapass shipyard aims to represent one of the most important social issues of contemporary relevance: the delocalization of Italian industries. in fact, the theme concerns the maximum constant emigration of the great Italian industries abroad, forcing the territories to a continuous impoverishment of work, professional and to an inexorable arrest of the general development.
In fact, to dominate the central allegorical scene of the Opera on one side an industrial historian, the knight Gianni Agnelli (whose company has moved more than half in America), and on the other a new industrialist, Flavio Briatore (whose business it has moved mainly to the United Arab Emirates) which represent some notable examples of delocalization. The issue of productive delocalization of Italian companies could be, or the first step towards the definitive escape and dispersion of Made in Italy. Choices, therefore, that could trigger the game of the parties: on the one hand those who accuse companies of being in search of easy money by betraying the national identity; on the other, those who look with disenchantment at the decline of the Italian economic system and justify companies with a laconic “doing business in Italy is much more difficult than abroad”. Bureaucracy, taxes, entry of goods from abroad are the reasons that justify this true boom of relocations without the possibility of contrast of any kind; therefore the accusation of a deaf and helpless government with respect to the problem.
The local territory risks inexorably losing production, the contraction of workers employed in the sector as well as structural competitiveness, since if first relocated meant only giving out simple functions, currently important functions (engineering, software, design, etc.) are relocated. etc.) which undoubtedly have a negative effect on the economic and social system. the overall representation of the Opera between a great scenography of the Industries, well-known entrepreneurs, Agnelli, symbol of Italian industrialization with Fiat and Briatore, a symbol of entrepreneurship today, open-minded … ready to bring everything and everyone to fiscal destinations less rigid than those Italian! examples of relocation to overhang an empty plate, where the workers seek their daily bread, a central subject, behind them, anthropomorphically depicted, the burst (boomm !!) of the system / industrial country, form the basis of a carnival allegory that at the same time it becomes an invitation to react early to avoid incurring the risks illustrated and as always to have a better world …
