Float “Italian Justice” - 1st category
Everyone feel the need of equality and respect for their own rights. Is it possible to wait for ten years to finish a lawsuit? Where’s the Justice goddess? Is she still alive? Sicily is also known as “the land where all change in order to change nothing”. Inspired by Giovanni Falcone e Paolo Borsellino ( victims of Mafia carnages), this float presents a “Fallen Angel” in the foreground as a symbol of Knelt Italy before injustice. Four white horses celebrate the two glorious men, presented as Emperors of Justice, that sacrificed their own lives for their love of this land. The statue of “Atena” tries to reassure us, the scale is full of boulders (trials). An eagle symbolises freedom, but it’s strangled by a cobra ( injustice). We’re still hoping in a better world. We’re hoping in living based on Justice.
